Corporate identity

On 18, Oct 2012 | In Design | By admin

A quick design I did, originally intended just for business cards. But while I was at it, I figured I might as well go all the way and do the rest as well.

Laser Guided Love

On 30, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

Laser Guided Love is an entirely new series of conceptual images. Earlier concepts were usually made with the use of stencils and spraypaint, whereas Laser Guided Love differentiates itself from those through the use of digital tools.

Why All The Bombs

On 28, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

Originally intended for stencil purposes, I decided to publish the digital version rather than the analog one. It better displays the colours and different background elements than the canvas version, which ended up being a fairly evenly distributed brown blob. The quote is by famous British stencil artist Banksy.

It was originally designed in January 2012.

Fixing The Sky

On 26, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

Fixing the Sky is a graphic I designed in the same style I’ve used in older stencils. It evolves around telling a short story through a simple design of only silhouettes and gradients. The O3 stands for the Ozone molecule. The rest should be self-explanatory. Fixing The Sky was made in October, 2011.

Silhouette Series #2

On 24, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

The pieces in both this trilogy as the previous one share the same simple black and white style with a caption. The main focus is to just bring a smile to peoples faces. From a more artistic point of view it’s interesting to try and tell a short story with just silhouettes and a single caption. Click ‘Read more’ for the other parts of the series!

Silhouette Series #1

On 23, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

The pieces in both this trilogy as the next one share the same simple black and white style with a caption. The main focus is to just bring a smile to peoples faces. From a more artistic point of view it’s interesting to try and tell a short story with just silhouettes and a single caption. If one puts the three parts of the series next to one another, the lines from two sentences: Love winning these riots; In confusing times hearts and minds are just the beginning. Click ‘Read more’ to check out the rest of the trilogy!

You Break My Heart

On 22, Jun 2012 | In Design | By admin

“You Break My Heart Into A Thousand Pieces And You Say It’s Because I Deserve Better”

A new halftone stencil I did, moving more into an experimental direction. For the first time in 1,5 years I cut my stencil out of paper instead of acetate, for comfort reasons. It initially was supposed to be a plain black & white stencil (shown below). But once I had that one nailed, I figured I might as well experiment some and see how it works with all kinds of bright colours. Turns out it works really well and looks a lot better than plain black and white. Click ‘Read More’ to see the black and white version.

Face The Dark

On 10, Dec 2011 | No Comments | In Design | By admin

It’s Better To Face The Dark Together.

Originally intended and used as a stencil design, it started as an experiment.  The piece turned out much better than I thought. I wanted to see how I could use light in my pieces to make them.. ‘richer’. To add an extra dimension to them. It was received very well by the online art/stencil community and it’s a path that I will explore more in the future.

Every once in a while I give into my habit: the habit of cutting halftone stencils. Of all stencils, these are probably the hardest to make. This is due to the repetitive process, the uncomfortable feeling of cutting the same square shape for hours and hours in a row and it simply being a ton of work.

ICA Alumni

ICA Alumni

A Joomla-based community-website I designed and developed during my last semester in college (January-June 2010). In this project I was part of a larger project group in which I was co-responsible for designing and developing the prototype of the website. This was done in close cooperation with the managing director of the Informatica & Communicatie Academie (ICA). The community-website was supposed to become the central meeting place for all ICA student.

After being put on halt for a while it has recently been picked up. Intentions are to develop a final website firmly based on the prototype.
